Patch notes: Picture-in-picture (Oct 27)
Imported. Imported from Commit messages from the OpenVibers repositories on GitHub; originally by OpenVibers.
What shipped on OpenVibe on 2026-10-27: 91 changes to OpenVibe.Live, OpenVibe.Games, OpenVibe.MediaHub, OpenVibe.Community, OpenVibe.Coupons, OpenVibe.Deals and 33 more. Every line below is a commit message from the OpenVibers repositories, linked to the change itself.
Highlights
- OpenVibe.Live: Picture-in-picture: up to three streams over a slot, from anyone's slots (stream_pips, migration 0021); the channel page draws them again (its API never sent the overlay); viewers move, resize, mute and hide each; a list editor in slot… (
396d1a1)
OpenVibe.Live
- Home streamer cards: an account-key stream is listed next to slots only while it is live or the newest; a months-old one under them read as a slot Go Live does not have (#388) (
4fc7aa5) - A channel's robot panel drives from the stream page's keyboard and gamepad: while the panel drives, the keys it names and the gamepad go to it (never typing in chat, never with a modifier), and the player keeps every other key (#389) (
555fa0b) - The phone studio sideways: the rail is two columns under the top bar (it ran 150 px off the screen and over the bar); docs: the OBS monitoring echo, and the chat socket's token_in_url and stream_changed frames for bots (#390) (
7d000fc) - openvibe-shared v4.15.0 (was v4.14.0), and a channel's footer is compact only while it is live (#387) (
b3ff40f) - Picture-in-picture: up to three streams over a slot, from anyone's slots (stream_pips, migration 0021); the channel page draws them again (its API never sent the overlay); viewers move, resize, mute and hide each; a list editor in slot… (
396d1a1) - PIPs in VODs: while a stream is live, when each PIP was on screen is kept (stream_history kind 'pip'); GET /api/vods/:id answers pips, each its stream's public VOD in both videos' seconds (#392) (
3f6abf4) - A screen share's camera goes out as a stream of its own: its own VOD, shown as the PIP (#393) (
2916f32) - openvibe-shared v4.15.1 (was v4.15.0) (#394) (
9eb9df9)
OpenVibe.Games
- Characters are the game's, not a platform feature: no 3-slot cap, no sign-in lock (#158) (
5e81d3e) - Remix a creator world into your own, credited; the platform direction written down (#159) (
17105e6) - Scripts in creator worlds: a world's own games-quickjs@1 mods, written at /worlds, checked like an installed pack's within creator limits, run in its rooms' QuickJS host when GAMES_CREATOR_SCRIPTS=1 (off by default) (#160) (
0e51c8b) - Teams for creator worlds: an owner's invite link adds editors who save the map and scripts and try the draft; the owner keeps publishing, renaming, deleting and the team; memberships follow account export, merge and deletion (#161) (
193fe13) - openvibe-shared v4.15.1 (was v4.14.0) (#162) (
2eeb4f9)
OpenVibe.MediaHub
- openvibe-shared v4.15.0 (was v4.14.0) (#147) (
1a223d3) - A recording plays the PIPs that were on screen while it was live, each its own VOD synced over the player (Live's vod.pips); viewers move, resize, mute or hide each (#148) (
4159eac) - openvibe-shared v4.15.1 (was v4.15.0) (#149) (
ad6e020) - /auth/me is not counted by the sign-in limiter: 60 page views in 15 minutes made a signed-in visitor look signed out (#150) (
9c42ef0)
